When setup stops
Short recovery steps for common Free Beta installation and host-setup problems.
Installer problems
Confirm Node.js 20 or newer, retry the temporary installer command, and complete browser sign-in. Keep the redacted receipt from the failed attempt so the exact release and error code can be identified.
Run the doctor
Run `vira doctor` after installation. If only one host is affected, use the host-specific installer selection or repair path instead of changing unrelated workspace files.
If Vira reports a local edge
The temporary beta3 runtime can retain an old loopback edge setting. On Windows, run `setx VIRA_EDGE_URL https://edge.myvira.video`, open a new terminal, and restart your AI host. On macOS or Linux, export the same variable before starting the host. Never put an access token in this setting.
Provider setup is optional
A missing provider credential should be explained as a capability limitation. Vira must preserve provider-cost confirmation, rights, safety, and final Video review, and must not silently substitute an unverified route.
Still blocked
Email [email protected] with the redacted receipt, Vira version, host, and operating system. Do not send credentials, access tokens, or private media.
